FINANCING FROM
Mini Excavators from 2 to 3.5 Tons
Three mini excavators engineered for Canadian operators who need full-size digging force in a compact footprint.
Up To 10 ft 11 in Dig
The flagship 35MT reaches 130.5 in. deep for trenching, foundations, and utility work.
Extendable Chassis
Variable-width undercarriage fits through narrow gates, then widens for digging stability.
Thumb + Quick-Attach
Hydraulic thumb, quick-attach, and swing boom come standard across the lineup.
Kubota Diesel Power
Premium Japanese diesel engines paired with NACHI piston pumps for proven reliability.
Kubota-Powered Mini Excavators for Tight Sites
Mammoth mini excavators are built to deliver powerful results in tight, demanding environments. Ranging from 2 to 3.5 tons, every model runs a premium Japanese Kubota diesel engine: the D902 on the 20MT, the D1105 on the 27MT, and the D1703 on the flagship 35MT. Hydraulic thumb, quick-attach, swing boom, and high/low travel speed come standard, so you can dig trenches, shape landscapes, and load trucks in confined sites where larger machines simply can’t operate. The Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety notes that trenches 1.2 metres (4 feet) or deeper require a protective system unless cut entirely in stable rock.

Mini Excavator Questions, Answered.
Everything Canadian operators ask about compact excavators and mini diggers.
Mini excavators handle digging trenches, footings, and foundations, plus landscaping, grading, plumbing and utility work, demolition, and material handling. With a hydraulic thumb and quick-attach, you can swap buckets, augers, and breakers in minutes. Their compact footprint lets them work in backyards, indoors, and confined sites where full-size machines can't reach, pairing well with our tracked mini dumpers for haul-away.
It depends on access and dig depth. The 2-ton X-Cavator 20MT (39 in. minimum width) is ideal for tight residential and indoor work. The 2.7-ton 27MT is the all-round landscaper's choice with nearly 9.5 ft of dig depth. The 3.5-ton 35MT is the flagship: an enclosed AC/Heat cab, 31.1 kN dig force, and 10 ft 11 in of dig depth for larger excavation and all-day jobs. For a full breakdown by job type, read our mini excavator sizing guide.
All three X-Cavators run dependable Kubota diesel engines: the D902 on the 20MT, the D1105 on the 27MT, and the D1703 on the flagship 35MT. The 20MT and 27MT pair a Japanese-made NACHI piston pump running at 3,045 PSI, and the 35MT delivers 26 GPM at 3,553 PSI for the hardest digging.
Yes. Every X-Cavator comes standard with a hydraulic thumb, quick-attach coupler, and swing boom, so you can change attachments fast and dig offset against walls and fences. A range of buckets, augers, and hydraulic breakers is available to customize the machine for digging, trenching, drilling, and demolition. See our guide to the 10 best mini excavator attachments for Canada for what each one does.
